Jan 4, 1965 — Oct 24, 2026
Joseph Gregory “Greg” Haskell, 61, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at his home. He was born on January 4, 1965, in Henderson, North Carolina.
Greg was a man of remarkable intelligence, a sharp wit, and a generous heart. Known for his quick sarcasm and unmistakable sense of humor, he had a way of making people laugh, often when they least expected it. Beneath that wit was a deeply caring man who would give someone the shirt off his back without a second thought. His generosity wasn’t something he talked about; it was simply part of who he was.
A devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, Greg loved cheering on his team and never missed an opportunity to show his Bulldog pride. He was also an exceptionally talented guitarist, with a deep love and appreciation for music. Playing guitar wasn’t just a pastime for Greg; it was a gift, a passion, and one of the many ways he expressed himself.
Above all, Greg loved his family. Being a father and grandfather brought tremendous meaning to his life. His family will remember not only the love he gave, but also his humor, his wisdom, his stories, and all the little things that made him uniquely Greg. Those are the things that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Franklin Haskell Jr.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Jean (Seastrunk) Haskell; his daughters, Jessica Haskell (Nicholas Louviere), Ashley Mullins (Jacob), and Samantha West; his son, Jonathan Pallas; his longtime partner, Melissa Mediate; his brothers, Keith Haskell, Larry Haskell (Margie Fox), and Brent Haskell; and his beloved grandchildren, Magnolia Haskell, Haven Louviere, and Noah Grace Louviere. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Greg’s life cannot be measured simply by the years he lived, but by the people he touched, the love he gave, and the pieces of himself that remain with those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the lives he helped shape. A service will be planned at a later date.
