Caregivers who are feeling stretched while caring for a loved one are invited to participate in an upcoming Powerful Tools for Caregivers virtual class series hosted by the Northwest Georgia Area Agency on Aging.
The six-week educational program is designed to help caregivers learn practical tools to take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. The course is beneficial for anyone helping care for a parent, spouse, friend, or loved one—whether they live at home, in a nursing home, or even across the country.
Virtual classes will be held Thursdays from April 16 through May 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own home.
Throughout the six sessions, participants will learn strategies for:
-
Taking care of themselves as caregivers
-
Identifying and reducing personal stress
-
Communicating feelings, needs, and concerns
-
Navigating communication in challenging situations
-
Understanding and learning from emotions
-
Making confident caregiving decisions
Class size is limited and registration is required.
