The Atlanta Braves will try to wrap up their road trip to Philadelphia with a series victory Monday afternoon as they meet the Phillies in the finale of a four-game National League East showdown.
The Braves carry an 85-58 record into the Labor Day matchup and lead the series two games to one. Atlanta earned a dramatic 5-4 victory Sunday after rallying from a 4-1 deficit late in the game.
That victory gave the Braves a five-game advantage over the 80-63 Phillies in the NL East, adding even more importance to Monday’s final meeting of the weekend.
Atlanta will turn to Grant Holmes on the mound. Holmes enters the game at 9-5 with a 3.62 ERA. Philadelphia will counter with Jesús Luzardo, who is 13-5 with a 3.02 ERA.
The Braves will be looking for their third win of the four-game series before heading back to Atlanta.
First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Braves coverage begins at 11:50 a.m. on Georgia 101.7 FM WJTH.
