Calhoun, GA – The Gordon County Animal Shelter, located at 202 Kirby Road in Calhoun, has reached maximum capacity and is urgently seeking adopters to help prevent the need for euthanasia for the first time in years.

In a heartfelt appeal to the community, shelter staff announced that all dogs are now available for free adoption. Each adoption includes spay/neuter services and a rabies vaccination.

“We are full, and something has to give,” the shelter shared. “If even one more dog comes in, we will have no choice but to start putting animals down—something we’ve worked hard to avoid for a very long time.”

Community members are encouraged to visit the shelter in person or view available dogs on the shelter’s official social media page.
