Calhoun City Schools is celebrating continued improvement in student mathematics achievement following the release of the 2025–2026 Georgia Milestones assessment results.
District leaders say students showed strong academic performance across multiple grade levels, with math scores continuing an upward trend and students meeting or exceeding state averages in several tested areas.
“We are incredibly proud of the continued growth demonstrated by our students,” Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor said. “These results reflect their hard work and the dedication of our teachers, staff, and families who support student success each day. We celebrate this progress while continuing to focus on growth and excellence for every Yellow Jacket.”
According to the district, the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient and Above level increased by 3 percent districtwide, while the percentage of students scoring Developing and Above also rose by 3 percent.
Calhoun City Schools students met or exceeded the state average in mathematics for third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth grades, as well as Algebra I. Overall, math performance improved from the previous year in six of the seven tested grade levels and courses.
School officials say the latest results reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and continued student growth. Calhoun City Schools plans to build on the momentum by monitoring student progress, celebrating achievement, and identifying additional opportunities to help every student succeed.
