The Calhoun Yellow Jackets are headed to the Elite 8.
Calhoun defeated Dawson County 61-52 Tuesday night in the second round of the GHSA Class AAA State Tournament, punching their ticket to the quarterfinal round and keeping their championship hopes alive.
The Yellow Jackets controlled the pace and came up with key stops down the stretch to secure the nine-point victory. With the win, Calhoun advances to the Elite 8 and will host its next matchup on Wednesday, March 4.
