Before Friday night’s Jacket victory, Calhoun Middle School Football took a special moment to honor one of its most dedicated leaders. Coach Eric Rigney was recognized on the field for his 24 years of commitment, leadership, and service to the program.
For more than two decades, Rigney has been a cornerstone of Calhoun Middle School Football, guiding young athletes not only in the sport but also in life lessons of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Many of his players have gone on to succeed at the high school level and beyond, carrying with them the foundation built under his leadership.
Surrounded by players, colleagues, and fans, Rigney received heartfelt thanks from the community he has served faithfully for nearly a quarter of a century.
“Coach Rigney has left a lasting impact on countless student-athletes,” school officials said. “His dedication to the program and to the young men he’s coached is a legacy that will always be remembered in Calhoun.”
The night was made even more special as the Jackets went on to claim victory, making the celebration of Coach Rigney’s career a winning one in every way.
