A Calhoun man is facing serious charges after allegedly threatening to shoot agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), authorities confirmed Monday.
Casey Herron, 36, was charged with terroristic threats and acts following an incident that began on Sunday, June 22. According to the GBI, Herron contacted the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and made the threats during a phone call.
GEMA/HS immediately notified the GBI, along with Gordon County 911 and the Calhoun Police Department. In response, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Herron’s residence on Jolly Road NW around 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Officials say Herron was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Gordon County Jail.
