Jefferson’s of Calhoun has announced that Kyle Smith has been selected as the 2025 Jefferson’s Calhoun Coach of the Year. Smith, who coaches wrestling at Calhoun Middle School and boys’ tennis at Calhoun High School, has been with Calhoun City Schools for five years.
Smith was chosen from a competitive field of nominations submitted by student-athletes and community members. The recognition stems from a contest launched in honor of National Coach’s Day on Oct. 6, which highlights Calhoun’s many dedicated and influential coaches.
According to Jefferson’s, Smith stood out for his kindness, leadership, and the personal investment he makes in each of his athletes, both on and off the mat and court.
