Calhoun Fire Department Leadership Placed on Paid Administrative Leave Amid Investigation

The City of Calhoun has placed certain Fire Department leadership on non-disciplinary paid administrative leave effective Friday, August 15, 2025.

This administrative action was required to ensure compliance with an independent third-party investigation regarding the City’s Fire Department. The investigation commenced Monday, August 18, 2025.

During this period, the Fire Department’s operations will continue without interruption. Battalion Chiefs for each shift, along with the Deputy Fire Marshal and Division Chief of Training, will handle all departmental responsibilities. Municipal administration will provide administrative oversight pending the investigation’s conclusion.

The City of Calhoun is committed to transparency and will provide additional information upon the investigation’s conclusion. As this is an active investigation, the City cannot provide further comment at this time.”
