Emory University announced it will offer free tuition to all undergraduate students whose families earn $200,000 or less annually, beginning in fall 2026.
The new initiative, called Emory Advantage Plus, marks a major expansion of the university’s financial aid program. It builds on Emory’s commitment to make its top-tier education more accessible and to reduce student debt.
All new and returning domestic undergraduates who meet the income criteria and qualify for need-based aid will be automatically considered. Emory will also continue to meet 100% of demonstrated financial need for all eligible domestic students.
“Offering free tuition to every student whose family income is $200,000 or less is about leadership,” said Interim President Leah Ward Sears. “We want great students to come here without regard to the cost.”
Sears added that the university’s goal is to remove financial barriers from college decisions. “If they qualify to come to Emory and they want to come to Emory, we will make sure they can afford Emory.”
