Final “Summer in the City” Block Party Set for July 18 in Downtown Calhoun

CALHOUN, Ga. — The City of Calhoun is closing out its popular Summer in the City Block Party series with a bang next weekend, as local favorite Kurt Thomas takes the stage for a high-energy evening of music, food, and fun.

The final block party of the 2025 season will be held Friday, July 18, from 6 to 10 p.m. along Park Avenue in downtown Calhoun. Residents and visitors alike are invited to BYOC—Bring Your Own Chair—and enjoy a family-friendly night out in the heart of the city.

Kurt Thomas, a beloved artist from North Georgia, will headline the event. Known for his soulful country sound and high-profile collaborations, Thomas has shared the stage with stars like Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland, and Little Big Town. His performance is expected to draw a big crowd and provide a memorable finale to this year’s block party series.
