CALHOUN, Ga. — Residents of Gordon County are invited to participate in a community food drive this Friday, November 21, to help local families in need. The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. at Calhoun Crossing Plaza (the former Kmart) at 122 W.C. Bryant Parkway in Calhoun, in the parking lot near Highway 41 and Burger King.
Donations collected during the drive will be turned over to St. Clement’s Catholic Church to support its ministry assisting families throughout the county. Organizers are asking for non-perishable items, particularly:
Canned meats
Canned chili and beef stew
Canned ravioli and spaghetti
Boxed meals such as Hamburger Helper, scalloped potatoes, and macaroni & cheese
Spaghetti sauce and boxed pasta
Canned vegetables
Community members are encouraged to drop off donations and help ensure that local families have access to essential food items during the holiday season.
