Erin Ranee Young, 39, former coordinator of the Floyd County Drug Court, has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to felony sexual contact with a participant under her supervision.
Prosecutors stated that Young engaged in a sexual relationship with a program participant and provided him with preferential treatment not given to others.
During sentencing, defense attorney Wade Hoyt noted that Young had been experiencing personal hardships, including a divorce and the responsibility of caring for her terminally ill father. He emphasized her lack of prior criminal history and the significant personal losses she has already endured, such as her job, home, and financial stability.
Judge Bryan Johnson granted Young several days to settle her personal affairs before beginning her prison term.
