The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a home on Brooksmill Drive around 4 a.m. Thursday following a report of an assault involving a firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies took 32-year-old Justin E. Fox, of 118 Brooksmill Drive, into custody. Fox is charged with Aggravated Assault, Battery under the Family Violence Act, Cruelty to Children, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. According to officials, the charges stem from an alleged assault on his wife. Several minor children were inside the home during the incident.
Deputies located and seized the firearm reportedly used in the assault.
Fox remains held at the Gordon County Jail.
