Calhoun, GA — The GEM Theatre wrapped up its summer film series with more than just movie magic — they also delivered a powerful act of generosity to the community.
Thanks to the kindness of moviegoers who attended the Summer, Western, and Fantasy Movie Series, the GEM Theatre collected and donated a total of 421 canned food items to the Voluntary Action Center – Hand Up, Inc. The food drive aimed to support local families facing food insecurity, and the response exceeded expectations.
“We are so grateful to our incredible patrons,” said a representative from the GEM Theatre. “Their donations made a real difference for our neighbors in need, and we’re proud to support the VAC in their mission.”
The Voluntary Action Center (VAC) is a local nonprofit committed to providing assistance and resources to residents struggling to meet basic needs. Contributions like these help restock pantry shelves and provide relief during tough times.
The GEM Theatre extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and looks forward to continuing its tradition of community involvement during the upcoming winter season.
