Georgia Voter Registration Deadline Approaches Ahead of November Election
Georgia residents who want to cast a ballot in this fall’s general election are running out of time to register to vote.
The deadline to register for the November 3 General Election is Monday, October 5. The deadline also applies to registered voters who need to change their address before the election.
Once registration closes, Georgia voters will have several opportunities to cast their ballots.
Early voting begins Tuesday, October 13 and continues through Friday, October 30. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, when polls across Georgia will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Voters planning to cast an absentee ballot by mail have until Friday, October 23 to request one. Georgia allows eligible registered voters to vote absentee without needing a specific reason for doing so.
A number of major statewide and federal offices will be decided during the election, including races for governor and U.S. Senate, along with other federal, state and local contests.
Georgia voters can check their registration status, find their polling location, locate advance voting sites and view their sample ballot through the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.
