All 17 graduates pass national licensure exam on first attempt

ROCK SPRING, GA — Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is celebrating a major milestone as all 17 graduates of its 2025 Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt—marking the third consecutive year the program has achieved a 100% pass rate.

“A 100% NCLEX-RN pass rate is a testament to the dedication of our students, the expertise of our faculty, and the strength of our curriculum,” said Lauren Elsberry, Registered Nursing program administrator at GNTC. “The students’ hard work and determination have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this incredible achievement with them.”

The NCLEX-RN exam is a standardized national test that assesses a graduate’s ability to practice safely and effectively as a Registered Nurse. The exam covers critical areas such as patient care, health maintenance, clinical judgment, and disease management.

In the words of Elsberry, the accomplishment reflects the broader mission of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG): “Students strengthen their communities not only by being ready to enter the workforce, but also by being fully prepared to enter the nursing profession with the knowledge, skills, and compassion necessary to provide safe, high-quality patient care from day one.”
