Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GNTC) Office of Career Services is enhancing student career preparation through immersive Virtual Reality (VR) technology designed to prepare students for today’s workforce.

Through a partnership with Believe Greater Dalton — an initiative of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce — and the Rome Floyd Chamber, GNTC Career Services obtained two Virtual Reality headsets from Transfr Trek. The headsets provide students with interactive career exploration experiences through virtual simulations that offer a “day in the life” look at numerous professions aligned with GNTC’s programs of study.

The immersive platform allows students to step inside real-world work environments, helping them better understand job expectations, workplace settings and required skills before entering the field.

“We are very grateful to Believe Greater Dalton, an initiative of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, and the Rome Floyd Chamber for helping us to provide this immersive experience to students so they can engage and explore the many career paths that GNTC offers and get a preview of careers that may interest them,” said Medina Safic, coordinator of Career Services at GNTC.

In addition to virtual job simulations, the platform features mobile-based career exploration tools, career interest assessments and career matching services. Students can also participate in virtual coaching and scenario-based challenges designed to build critical workplace skills.

The new technology reflects GNTC’s continued commitment to equipping students with innovative tools and hands-on resources that support informed career decisions and workforce readiness.
