The annual Spring Plant Sale at Georgia Northwestern Technical College is set to return April 13–16, offering a wide variety of plants while supporting student learning and community engagement.
The sale will kick off Monday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and continue Tuesday through Thursday during the same hours, or until all plants are sold. Organizers note that popular items often sell out before the final day.
Nick Barton, director of Horticulture at GNTC, says shoppers can expect a large selection of flowering annuals and perennials, along with vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, and blooming plants.
The event allows GNTC to give back to the community while providing Horticulture students with hands-on experience and a chance to showcase their work. Proceeds from the sale will go directly toward supporting the college’s Horticulture program.
Available vegetable plants include tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, zucchini, cantaloupe, and watermelon. Flower selections will feature favorites such as impatiens, dianthuses, petunias, marigolds, SunPatiens, lantana, million bells, and portulaca hanging baskets.
Plants will be priced at $5 for a four-pack or $30 for a flat containing four packs, with mixed flats of flowers and vegetables also available for $30.
The plant sale not only provides affordable gardening options but also gives GNTC Horticulture students valuable hands-on experience. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the college’s Horticulture program.
Shoppers are reminded that purchases must be made with cash or check, as credit cards will not be accepted.
