Four students at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) have been recognized for their academic excellence, earning the Governor Nathan Deal Technical Education Scholarship.
The scholarship honors top-performing students enrolled in industrial or industrial-related programs, highlighting their dedication to developing in-demand technical skills and preparing for careers in Georgia’s growing workforce.
The 2026 recipients from GNTC include:
- Yvonne Beltran of Dalton – Welding and Joining Technology
- Jimmy Keener of Dalton – Automation Technology
- Sarah Sane of Chatsworth – Welding and Joining Technology
- Gibson Scott of Fairmount – Precision Machining and Manufacturing
Each student was selected based on outstanding academic achievement and commitment to their field of study. The scholarship, named in honor of former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, aims to support and encourage students pursuing careers in technical education programs that are vital to the state’s economy.
GNTC officials say the recognition reflects both the students’ hard work and the college’s continued focus on workforce development across Northwest Georgia.
