Gordon Central High School is proud to announce that Coach Tony Plott has been appointed as the new Athletic Director for the 2025–2026 school year. Over the past several weeks, Coach Plott has worked closely with outgoing Athletic Director Billy Shackelford to ensure a smooth and efficient transition as the athletic department gears up for summer programs and the new academic year.

A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Coach Plott was a standout multi-sport athlete at East Hall High School, participating in football, basketball, wrestling, and track. He went on to play college football at Catawba College on a scholarship and later earned his master’s degree from West Georgia College.

Coach Plott brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached at East Hall and Pope High Schools, followed by an 18-year tenure at Woodland High School, where he served as head football coach for seven seasons. For the past three years, he has been a key contributor to Gordon Central’s football and track programs.

He and his wife Robin, a Calhoun native, have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of four children: Molly, Jonah, Isabelle, and Collins.

The Gordon Central community is excited for the future of Warrior athletics under Coach Plott’s guidance and looks forward to continued progress and achievement in the years ahead.
