Gordon County 4-H’ers Shine at 82nd Annual Georgia 4-H State Congress

Gordon County was well represented at the 82nd Annual Georgia 4-H State Congress, held in Atlanta from July 22–25, where top 4-H members from across the state came together to compete, connect, and celebrate their achievements.

This prestigious event marks the culmination of the 4-H year, featuring state-level competitions in Project Achievement and Leadership in Action. In addition to youth contests, the State Congress also honors outstanding 4-H professionals, supporters, and public officials who help drive the success of the 4-H program throughout Georgia.

Four outstanding Gordon County 4-H’ers earned the opportunity to compete at the state level this year:

  • Ally Jo Cook participated in the Beef Project

  • Clayton Haddox competed in the Poultry Project

  • Candy Romero showcased her work in the Swine Project

  • William Parish took part in the Public Speaking Project

Their participation at State Congress reflects their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence within the 4-H program.
