In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, observed the second full week of April, Gordon County E-911 is inviting community members to “adopt” one of their dispatchers.
Dispatchers, also known as telecommunicators, play a crucial role in public safety. They are the first point of contact during emergencies, taking calls and coordinating the response of law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incidents ranging from accidents to fires and medical emergencies.
Community members interested in showing appreciation can create a gift basket filled with a dispatcher’s favorite items. Those wishing to participate should contact Lt. Macey Silvers by April 6. To learn more about the dispatchers’ favorite items for the baskets, reach out via email at [email protected].
