On Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, Gordon County Fire & Rescue conducted a specialized extrication training session for its newest class of recruits at Parrish Wrecker Service in Calhoun.
The hands-on training focused on vehicle extrication techniques — a critical skill used by firefighters to safely remove victims trapped in vehicles after serious crashes. Recruits practiced using hydraulic tools and other rescue equipment under the supervision of experienced instructors.
“Extrication training is essential for ensuring our firefighters are fully prepared to respond to emergencies where every second counts,” said a department representative. “This type of real-world experience helps our recruits build the confidence and precision they’ll need in the field.”
Gordon County Fire & Rescue continues to emphasize professional development and community safety through ongoing training and certification programs.
