Today, the Gordon County Government released a statement announcing that it will host a “Service Spotlight” event for the community. Here is what they had to say.
Calhoun, GA – Gordon County Government invites residents to attend “Service Spotlight,” a
free community event on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at City Park
(formerly BB&T Park) located at 308 N Wall Street.
“Service Spotlight” expands on the Gordon County Tax Assessors “Hotdogs & Homesteads”
event last year. This year’s event includes a wide range of local government departments and
nonprofit organizations, all coming together in one place to connect with the community.
By showcasing the many services available to Gordon County residents, we are hoping to
increase our outreach with the community and raise awareness of the resources, programs, and
assistance available to them locally. Additionally, April 1st marks the final day for residents to
file for homestead exemptions, and staff will be available onsite to assist with questions and
applications.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet representatives, ask questions, and learn
more about services from local agencies including the Calhoun Police Department,
Calhoun-Gordon Library, Voluntary Action Center, AdventHealth EMS, Gordon County
Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Gordon County, Recovery Gordon, Gordon County
Child Advocacy Center & Sexual Assault Center, Family Resource Center of Gordon County,
and various County departments.
This family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity for residents to engage directly with the
people and organizations who serve the community every day.
