    IMPACTS
    Wind chills from 5 to 15 above across much of north and portions of Middle Georgia are expected with wind chills as cold as 0 in the north Georgia mountains. Avoid prolonged exposure if possible and have a safe heating source, particularly for those who may be experiencing power outages.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Gordon County Man Arrested For Aggravated Child Molestation

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports :
On September 16, 2025, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Kentucky Drive near Calhoun in response to a report of a domestic disturbance in which a shot was fired. No one was injured, but deputies determined that a child molestation was alleged to have occurred previously.
On September 17, an investigation into the alleged molestation was initiated by Sheriff’s detectives. The investigating officers interviewed the victim, other witnesses, and executed 2 search warrants which authorized the seizure of a number of articles of physical evidence which were collected.
At about 9:30 pm the following day, September 18 , detectives arrested CHRISTOPHER JOEL JACKSON, age 55, of 211 Kentucky Drive in connection with this investigation. Additional evidence was collected from JACKSON’s person upon his arrest. JACKSON was charged with Aggravated Child Molestation and related offenses against a minor child. He is being held in the county jail pending bond.
