Gordon County Schools’ Beth Herod Named President of Statewide Educational Leadership Organization

Gordon County Schools is celebrating a major professional milestone for one of its own. Beth Herod, Director of Early Learning and Elementary Education, has been named the new President of the Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Supervisors (GACIS).

Herod, who had been serving as President-Elect, will assume the full role of GACIS President effective immediately.

With years of experience in instructional leadership and a strong record of service within Gordon County Schools, Herod is widely respected for her commitment to empowering educators and enhancing student learning. Colleagues say her deep understanding of curriculum, early learning, and professional development makes her an ideal choice to lead the statewide organization.

GACIS works to support instructional leaders across Georgia, promote innovation in teaching and learning, and strengthen the overall quality of education throughout the state. Herod’s leadership is expected to further advance those goals.
