Gordon County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Monday, March 16, due to the potential for severe weather during the morning hours.
School officials say the delay is being implemented out of an abundance of caution as weather conditions are expected to be unpredictable overnight and into the morning commute. The adjustment is intended to help ensure the safety of bus drivers, students, faculty, and families.
Parents should plan to adjust their child’s morning drop-off time by two hours. School buses will also run two hours behind their normal route schedules.
Under the delayed schedule, elementary schools will begin at 9:30 a.m., while middle and high schools will start at 10:30 a.m.
District officials said they will continue to monitor weather conditions and remain in contact with local agencies. If additional changes become necessary, families will be notified through the school system’s communication channels.
