The Gordon County Schools Board of Education has approved Becky Hulsey as the new principal of Red Bud Elementary School, effective following the March 9 board meeting.
Hulsey currently serves as assistant principal at Red Bud Middle School, a role she has held since 2021. During her tenure, she has led professional learning initiatives for teachers, supported tiered interventions, evaluated instructional practices, and collaborated closely with families to foster student success.
Before joining Red Bud Middle, Hulsey served as assistant principal at Sonoraville High School and as both an academic coach and teacher at Red Bud Middle School. She began her career with Gordon County Schools teaching at Sonoraville Elementary, Sonoraville Middle, and Sonoraville High schools.
Hulsey holds a Specialist and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, along with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Georgia.
“I love the Red Bud community and feel truly honored to have the opportunity to serve as principal of Red Bud Elementary,” Hulsey said. “This community has shaped me and supported me throughout most of my career, and it means the world to continue giving back to the place I call home.”
Hulsey will succeed Debra Brock, who is retiring at the end of the year after leading Red Bud Elementary since 2016. Gordon County Schools expressed gratitude for Brock’s dedication and leadership during her tenure.
