Atrium Health Floyd has announced that Sarah Husser has been named director of the FloydSpirit Foundation, the newly renamed philanthropic arm of Atrium Health Floyd.

Formerly known as the Floyd Healthcare Foundation, the FloydSpirit Foundation focuses on fundraising and community engagement efforts that support programs and initiatives aligned with the mission of Atrium Health Floyd. The foundation works to raise funds and build partnerships that enhance patient care and improve health outcomes across the communities served by the health system.

In her new role, Husser will oversee fundraising initiatives, increase community awareness, and cultivate financial support for Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center and its affiliated organizations. She will also work closely with Dan Bevels, president of the Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation, to further collaborative efforts aimed at advancing community health.

Husser brings eight years of experience with Atrium Health Floyd to the position. She previously served as the foundation’s development officer and as fundraising and outreach coordinator for Cancer Navigators, where she played a key role in strengthening donor engagement and outreach efforts.

Prior to joining Atrium Health Floyd, Husser served as director of the Gordon County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Her background in nonprofit leadership, community relations, and development positions her well to lead the foundation’s expanded mission.

The appointment underscores Atrium Health Floyd’s continued commitment to strengthening philanthropic support and expanding programs that benefit patients and communities throughout the region.
