Retired Gordon County Schools educator Judy Craig has won the runoff election for the Gordon County Board of Education’s At-Large Post 7 seat, defeating challenger Dakota Grogan.

With all 11 precincts reporting and early voting totals included, Craig received 2,369 votes to Grogan’s 1,954 votes.

The runoff election was held Tuesday after neither candidate secured enough votes during the initial primary election to claim the seat outright.

Craig, a longtime educator in Gordon County Schools, campaigned on her experience within the local education system and her commitment to supporting students, teachers and families across the county.

The victory secures Craig a seat on the Gordon County Board of Education, where she will help oversee district policies, budgeting and educational initiatives affecting schools throughout the county.

Voter turnout remained steady throughout the runoff period, with early voting taking place during the week leading up to Election Day.

Craig will now join the Gordon County Board of Education as the newly elected representative for the at-large Post 7 position.
