With the anticipated shutdown of the SNAP program, the Voluntary Action Center (VAC) is preparing for a potential increase in individuals and families seeking food assistance across Gordon County.
To help meet community needs, the VAC has compiled and organized a list of all local food pantries, including their current distribution days and times. The organization reminds residents that community food pantries are designed to provide supplemental assistance and that food distribution depends on the availability of resources at each site.
In addition to coordinating with local pantries, the VAC continues to provide hot meals Monday through Friday. Lunch is served on-site from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and dinner is available in take-out containers from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
