Mohawk Industries reported higher-than-expected earnings and revenue for the second quarter, beating Wall Street forecasts despite ongoing economic challenges.
The Calhoun-based flooring manufacturer announced Thursday that it earned $196.1 million during the quarter.
The company reported net income of $3.22 per share. After adjusting for non-recurring costs, earnings came in at $3.67 per share, well above the $2.57 per share analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research had expected.
Mohawk also exceeded revenue expectations, reporting $2.99 billion in second-quarter sales. Analysts had projected revenue of approximately $2.83 billion.
The stronger-than-expected results indicate solid performance for one of the world’s largest flooring manufacturers, whose products include carpet, tile, laminate, wood and vinyl flooring.
Mohawk Industries is headquartered in Calhoun and is one of the largest employers in northwest Georgia, with manufacturing and distribution operations around the world.
The company released its second-quarter financial results Thursday.
