ATLANTA, GA – Effective July 1, the Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD) will officially operate under a new name: Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE).

The name change reflects the division’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety, compliance, and enforcement of commercial vehicle operations throughout the state.

While the name is new, the mission remains unchanged. CVE officers will continue working to keep Georgia’s roadways safe through a combination of professional enforcement and educational outreach.

Officials say the updated name better aligns with the division’s focus and responsibilities. New branding and signage will begin appearing as the transition takes effect.

“Our dedication to excellence in commercial vehicle enforcement remains as strong as ever,” a department spokesperson said.
