Today, municipal voters will select a new mayor – Jerry Mauldin or Shane Swift – and, elect someone to fill City Council Post One – those choices are Hunter Collette or Mike Young. Polls close at 7.Tonight’s Gordon County Board of Commissioners meeting gets underway with the work session at 5; the agenda starts at 6. A public hearing for the zoning requests near I-75 in Resaca – two lots totalling about 90 acres – multiple speakers are expected. The request is to change the zoning from agricultural to industrial. Developers plan a logistics center that will create about 175 jobs, according to estimates. Also, the commission will vote on new vehicles (From Prater Ford!!) for our local EMA. The bids from the local dealer are well under state-approved pricing guidelines.
