A good news story: The teen reported missing yesterday evening has been located safe and sound. Sheriff Mitch Ralston confirmed that the fifteen-year-old has been found.
Former Gordon County Commissioner Rebecca (Becky) Hood was indicted by a Gordon County Grand Jury yesterday one one count of cruelty to children. Her husband, Scott Adrian Hood was indicted on one count of child molestation. This is a four-year investigation’s final phase before a trial is scheduled. The trial will be in Gordon County; the District Attorney’s office from The Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case. The local recusal of our Cherokee Judicial Circuit DA, and by local judges were a result of Ms. Hood’s position as Chairman of The Gordon County Board of Commissioners. She did not seek reelction when her last term came to an end in 2022. Hood began serving on the board in 2006.
