There were three deaths in an early morning traffic accident on Interstate 75 in the Southbound Lane near mile marker 308; this is just south of the Union Grove Road Accident. Several serious injuries were also reported. At 10:00 a.m., traffic remains heavy as investigations and clearance continue and motorists are using state highways as alternate routes.
In other news, last night’s council meetings in Calhoun and Resaca previewed the fiscal budgets for the coming year. Minutes from those meetings will be posted here (Calhoun – Resaca) when they are available.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College gave more than $36,000 dollars in scholarships to 51 area students. GNTC offers career paths, associates degrees, and has an agreement with Southern Adventist University to continue some programs into Bachelors Degrees.
