There were three deaths in an early morning traffic accident on Interstate 75 in the Southbound Lane near mile marker 308; this is just south of the Union Grove Road Accident. Several serious injuries were also reported. At 10:00 a.m., traffic remains heavy as investigations and clearance continue and motorists are using state highways as alternate routes.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College gave more than $36,000 dollars in scholarships to 51 area students. GNTC offers career paths, associates degrees, and has an agreement with Southern Adventist University to continue some programs into Bachelors Degrees.
