    Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Ice accumulations of 0.25 to 0.75 inches, with snow or sleet amounts of an inch or less.

    Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia.

    From late Friday night through Monday morning.
    IMPACTS
    Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

In today’s news:

10 AM, you are invited to join the Gordon County Fire and Rescue for the Push-In Ceremony for their three new fire engines.  It’s being held at Station One, near the outlet mall, on Public Safety Drive.

Along with a millage rate increase, Gordon County’s proposed budget cuts the budgets of a majority of agencies and offices.  Even the increases are for a COLA raise for County employees and to pay for the raise in benefit costs – even as the raise is given, reports indicate that County employees will be paying more for the benefits out of their checks.  More details coming as public hearings are held.
