    Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.

In today’s news:

Yesterdays Building, Fleet, and Public Works hearing gave updates on Pocket Road (GDOT closed the road after heavy rains damaged critical infrastructure), repairs are coming soon.  Also, the Mount Olive Church Road Reopening is closer to commencement.  A final review by engineers – and a collaboration with Army Corp of Engineers and GEPD should overcome the final hurdles.

Ranger’s playground should open in July.  At the Gordon County Board of Commissioners May 20th meeting, next steps on the Ranger Community Center should be covered.

Budgeting season continues: City of Calhoun Meeting is May 12th at The Depot; Resaca, also meeting on May 12th, will open the budget discussions for the 2025-2026 expenditures.

City of Plainville has approved a vendor for storm water management repairs and upgrades, and the gym will soon be re-floored.
