CALHOUN — The 2025 Northwest Georgia Fair is almost here, bringing nine nights of rides, food, shows, and family fun to the Cherokee Capitol Fairgrounds. Gates open nightly at 5 p.m. from Friday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 13.
Fairgoers can look forward to midway rides, classic fair foods, youth livestock shows, games, animals, pageants, fashion shows, and nightly entertainment. While construction is underway on a new Multi-Purpose Ag Facility—set to feature conference rooms, restrooms, and an open-air arena by mid-2026—the fair will continue to deliver a full schedule of activities and excitement.
The beloved Fair Parade returns to downtown Calhoun on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. The event will showcase local high school bands, floats, dancers, and community groups, while also paying tribute to public safety personnel, military members, and veterans. All local veterans are encouraged to attend and participate.
Admission is just $5, which includes all nightly shows and entertainment. Children age 5 and under are free. Unlimited ride wristbands will be sold each night, with individual ride tickets also available.
A special Senior Adult Fair Fun Day is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Seniors can enjoy entertainment, bingo, fellowship, and lunch. Pre-registration is requested by calling 770-608-3891. The event is sponsored by Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, Bud and Vicki Owens, and the Northwest Georgia Fair.
