The countdown is almost over—the 2025 Northwest Georgia Fair opens this Friday, September 5, at the Cherokee Capitol Fairgrounds on Highway 53 toward Rome. The fair runs for nine nights through Saturday, September 13, offering midway rides, classic fair food, livestock shows, games, animals, pageants, fashion shows, and plenty of family fun.
This year’s event comes with a slightly different layout as construction is underway on a new Multi-Purpose Ag Facility. Once complete in mid-2026, the facility will include conference spaces, commercial restrooms, and a large open-air arena. Despite the changes, organizers promise a full slate of activities and entertainment for all ages.
One of the highlights will be the annual Fair Parade, set for Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m. in downtown Calhoun. The parade will feature local high school bands, floats, dancers, and will pay tribute to public safety agencies, the military, and veterans. All area veterans are encouraged to attend and participate.
Admission to the fair is just $5, with free entry for children five and under. The price includes nightly shows and entertainment. Unlimited ride wristbands are available each evening, or guests can purchase individual ride tickets.
The fair will also host a Senior Adult Fair Fun Day on Wednesday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. Seniors can enjoy entertainment, bingo, fellowship, and lunch. Registration is requested by calling 770-608-3891. The special day is sponsored by Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, Bud and Vicki Owens, and the Northwest Georgia Fair.
