Calhoun, GA – A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash on Lovers Lane Road, according to the Calhoun Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
Authorities say the incident happened just after 9 p.m. on September 10, when a 42-year-old Calhoun man was struck while standing in the center of the northbound lane of Lovers Lane Road. The vehicle involved did not stop.
The victim was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with serious injuries. His current condition remains unknown.
Around 2 a.m. Thursday, a 30-year-old Calhoun woman contacted police, reporting that she believed she had struck a deer in the area. Officers later identified her vehicle, a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, as the one involved in the crash. The SUV has since been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT-A) is assisting in the case.
