Community members, pickleball enthusiasts and supporters recently gathered for the Rally Against Cancer Pickleball Tournament on September 27, a community event dedicated to raising awareness and support in the fight against cancer.

The event welcomed participants of all skill levels for a day of friendly competition, fellowship and community engagement. More than a sporting event, Rally Against Cancer served as an opportunity to bring people together around a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer.

Throughout the day, players took to the courts while spectators, volunteers and supporters helped create an atmosphere of encouragement and hope. The event highlighted the power of community connections and the importance of raising awareness about cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship.

“Events like Rally Against Cancer remind us of the strength that comes from a community coming together for a common purpose,” said Emily Tarpley, manager of the Edna Owens Breast Center at AdventHealth Gordon. “We are grateful for everyone who participated, volunteered and supported this event to help raise awareness and encourage hope for those affected by cancer.”

The event also provided an opportunity to celebrate survivors, honor those currently undergoing treatment and recognize loved ones whose lives have been touched by cancer. AdventHealth remains committed to providing compassionate, whole-person cancer care that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
