A Gordon County jury has convicted a Resaca man on multiple sexual offense charges involving a juvenile, culminating in a life sentence handed down earlier this month.
According to the Office of the District Attorney, Christopher Allan Summers, 31, of Resaca, was found guilty on March 27, 2026, of 16 charges stemming from incidents that occurred between September 2024 and June 2025. The charges included aggravated child molestation, 12 counts of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and two counts of incest.
Authorities said Summers was initially arrested on June 20, 2025, by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office and the Calhoun Police Department for offenses that took place across both jurisdictions. A Gordon County Grand Jury later indicted him in September 2025.
The case proceeded to trial over the course of a week, during which jurors heard testimony from multiple witnesses, including the victim. After approximately three hours of deliberation, the jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts.
On April 16, 2026, Rosemary M. Greene sentenced Summers to life in prison, with the first 30 years to be served in custody.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Whitney A. Law and Assistant District Attorney Austin J. Waldo, with assistance from Assistant Chief Investigator Jack Hemby.
In a statement, the District Attorney’s Office expressed appreciation for the work of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, the Calhoun Police Department, and the Gordon County Child Advocacy Center and Sexual Assault Center, citing their efforts in helping bring the case to a conclusion and secure justice for the victim.
