    IMPACTS
    Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Opening of Mountain Education’s Calhoun Campus

Mountain Education held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, September 30, to celebrate the opening of its new Calhoun Campus. The event brought together members of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, Calhoun City Schools administration, and the school’s staff, teachers, and students.

A highlight of the event was the ribbon cutting by Mario Torres, Mountain Education Calhoun’s first graduate.

Mountain Education (ME) is a non-traditional, evening high school that partners with local school districts to provide flexible learning opportunities. Campuses are open in the evenings, with virtual support available to students during the day. The Calhoun Campus operates Monday through Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
