Rome Police Arrest Two Suspects in Ongoing Homicide Investigation

The Rome Police Department is continuing to investigate a homicide discovered around noon Tuesday in the John Graham Homes area near Hull Avenue and Cedar Avenue.

According to authorities, witnesses reported seeing a red passenger vehicle in the area shortly before officers found the body of a woman covered with blankets. The vehicle was later located in Bartow County and stopped with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies. Investigators have interviewed several neighbors and witnesses as part of the ongoing case.

Two suspects have been taken into custody.

Mystique Malachi Amaziah Taylor, 23, is being held without bond on several charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding, theft by receiving stolen property, and failure to obey traffic-control devices. He also faces felony warrants for concealing the death of another, aggravated assault, two counts of felony murder, and aggravated battery. Taylor is additionally being held for the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Rolanda Monique Edwards, 25, is also being held without bond. She is charged with party to a crime and faces warrants for concealing the death of another and hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officials say the case highlights the strength of regional law enforcement partnerships and their shared dedication to public safety.
