Scheduled Water Outage Planned Along Highway 53 in Gordon County Wednesday

Residents and businesses along a portion of Highway 53 in Gordon County should prepare for a temporary loss of water service on Wednesday as crews with Calhoun Utilities perform scheduled work.

According to Calhoun Utilities, a planned water outage will take place on Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect customers along Highway 53 from the intersection of Brownlee Mountain Road and Plainville Road to the Floyd County line. Utility crews will be working in the area throughout the day as part of the scheduled maintenance.

Customers in the affected area are encouraged to plan ahead for the temporary interruption in water service by storing any water they may need during the outage.

Calhoun Utilities expects service to be restored once the scheduled work is completed later Wednesday afternoon. Residents are asked to use caution around utility crews working along Highway 53.
