Gordon County, GA — August 28, 2025
Sheriff Mitch Ralston announced Thursday that every member of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement and Jail divisions has successfully completed annual Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training.

The training, led by Sheriff’s Office staff instructors, ensures deputies and jail personnel are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. Instruction also included the proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which can be lifesaving during cardiac emergencies.

Sheriff Ralston emphasized the importance of the annual training requirement, noting that it equips officers with essential skills to better protect the community and those in their custody.

“We want our staff ready for any emergency,” said Sheriff Ralston. “This training not only benefits our personnel, but also the public we serve every day.”

Community organizations are also encouraged to take advantage of this training opportunity. Groups interested in scheduling a CPR and First Aid course may contact the Sheriff’s training staff at 706-879-5491 or 706-879-5568, or by email at [email protected].
