Several Sonoraville High School students represented their chapter at the 98th Annual National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis.

Emma Bennett and Addy Ryle earned national recognition, placing 7th in the nation with their Agriscience Project in the Food Products and Processing Systems category.

Recent SHS graduate Makena Blalock (Class of 2025) also brought home top honors, earning a national win in the Employment Skills Contest. As part of the competition, Blalock submitted a cover letter, résumé, and job application, followed by an online interview and follow-up email. At the convention, she advanced through multiple stages, including an in-person interview, handwritten follow-up, and final interviews after reaching the Top 12.

The contest concluded with the Top 8 participants attending a networking luncheon and completing a mock job offer call, where they demonstrated professional negotiation skills such as discussing hours or salary.
